HTML5 TeacherPlus Release: March 1, 2018

We are pleased to announce that the HTML5 TeacherPlus Gradebook will be updated during the early morning (EDT) on March 1, 2018. Included in this update are a number of important feature fixes, along with enhancements to the Class Attendance Report header, startup screen settings, and active gradebook settings.

Features and Enhancements

The Class Attendance Report header includes more information

The Class Attendance Report header now displays the report's date range, as set in Attendance Report Settings dialog box.

The header also includes the total class Absences and/or Tardies for the selected time period.

The Startup Gradebook can no longer be hidden

Safeguards have been added to protect teachers from hiding the gradebook they use as their Startup Screen.

Prior to this update teachers were able to hide their Startup screen resulting in the gradebook not displaying the next time they accessed Teachers Plus.

Startup Screen Settings

The Startup Screen setting is set in General Settings. You can choose a Specific Gradebook from the Class drop-down list, or you can set it to the Last Used Gradebook. The Class drop-down list now only includes Active Gradebooks.

Startup Gradebook Setting

Gradebooks can be set to Active in Settings > Gradebooks. Clearing the Active check-box for a gradebook inactivates it and hides it from the Class drop-down list in the Startup Screen settings.

Warning Messages

New warning messages notify teachers when they are attempting to hide the current gradebook or the startup gradebook.

Hiding the Current Gradebook

When a teacher tries to hide their current gradebook they will receive the following message:

Hide Current Gradebook Warning

If a teacher wants to hide the gradebook they are currently viewing they must first switch to a different gradebook.

Hiding the Startup Screen Gradebook

When a teacher tries to hide their Startup gradebook they will receive the following message:

Hide Startup Gradebook Warning

If a teacher wants to hide the gradebook currently specified as their Startup Screen they must first go to General Settings > Startup Screen to select a different gradebook.

Feature Fixes

Skill grades calculated from linked assignment columns will be received in the AP Holding bin even if the teacher does not open the Skill/Standard screen.
