PlusPortal Release: July 7th 2022

We've released several new features, improvements, and feature fixes for PlusPortal.  Highlights of this update include:

New Features
E-Portfolio Tracking for Parents and Students Added the ability to track when parents and students open documents in the E-Portfolio
Online Meetings for Groups Added a section for Group Heads to post Online Meetings for their Groups.
Added the ability to hide sections of the new incident submission form and make others read-only.
Improvements
Coursework Submission Report Added a Submission Report for teachers to see which students submitted an Assignment or Quiz or responded to a discussion and who has not.  
Added a feature that allows a teacher to open an unsubmitted Quiz for a Student and submit it as it is.
Added an indicator that denotes whether the student’s or parent’s Account submitted the Assignment/Quiz.
 Added a mark as complete checkbox when student submits an assignment.
 Added a feature when e-mailing students and parents to select only students from the active year, only students from the scheduling year or both.
 Discipline notification e-mails now show up under Email Analytics for tracking.
 Added a report to see the e-mail statistics for a specific mass email to measure engagement.
 We now save the content of e-mails and make it available to admin users.
 Added a specification to define which grade levels can see a calendar event .
 Added upgraded filtering controls to the Calendar to include multiselect dropdown.
 Added options to print login session reports for parent accounts and added Parents to the “All” option when printing the session report.
 The health questionnaire now includes non-teaching staff when enabled for teachers.


Feature Fixes
Fixed an issue that caused Re-occurring events that began more than a year ago from being sent out to the public feed for other applications such as RediSite.  
Fixed an issue where Unlinked Assignments showed up in the Progress Box/Progress Reports regardless of the Marking periods selected.
Fixed an issue where users could reply to a message or email from an account with incoming messages disabled.
Fixed an issue where certain events imported from an ICS file were not displaying in the ParentPlus mobile app.  
Fixed an issue where sections set as not visible were appearing on the grid schedule.   
Fixed an issue where the directory fields list was loading as blank for students when special characters were part of a field name.
Fixed an issue where a group could not be edited when it was copied from a previous year and the group head is no longer with the school.
When multiple schools are set up in a District, the Login Page for the District should show the login page that is set up for the base school.  This was not happening and is now fixed.  

New Features

E-Portfolio Tracking for Parents and Students

We added tracking when parents and students open E-Portfolio documents when enabled by a PlusPortals Admin under Permissions Summary.

Online Meetings for Groups

We have added the Online Meetings feature to Groups. This will now allow Group Heads to add Online Meetings for the groups they are assigned to. Group Heads can sign into their Microsoft Account and add a Teams meeting, or they can add a custom link, allowing them to link to any platform that provides Online Meeting functionality. PlusPortals Admins can enable this on the Setup > Groups > Permissions page.

 
Once enabled and Allow Custom Links and/or Allow Microsoft Teams Meetings is selected, an Online Meetings box will show on the group page. The functionality is the same as on class pages.


Discipline Restriction Settings

On the Teacher Permissions page in the Incidents section, we’ve added the ability to hide sections of the new incident submission form and make others read-only.


Improvements

Coursework Submissions Report and View

Teachers are now able to determine which students have not turned in an assignment, submitted a quiz, or participated in a discussion. The E-Locker Assignments and Quizzes tabs will now allow teachers to view missing submissions as well as print a report for the students who have not submitted.  





Give Teachers Access to Unsubmitted Quizes

Added a feature that allows a teacher to open an unsubmitted Quiz for a Student and submit it as it is.  



Assignment/Quiz Submitter Indicator

Added an indicator next to the student’s name that denotes whether the student’s or parent’s account submitted the Assignment/Quiz.


Added Mark as Complete Checkbox to Hand-Ins

When students submit an assignment, a “Mark as Complete” checkbox has been added and defaulted to checked. Students will no longer need to separately mark assignments as completed from the Coursework box. Students can uncheck the box if they do not want to mark the assignment as completed.


E-Mail Filter for Active or Scheduling Year

Added a feature when e-mailing students and parents to select from the active year only, scheduling year only or both.


Added Discipline Notifications to E-Mail Analytics

Discipline notification emails now show up under Email Analytics for tracking.

Email Analytics – Statistics on Individual E-Mails

PlusPortals Admins can now see statistics on individual e-mails.  


Admin Access to E-mail Content

The Admin can view the content of the e-mail by clicking the icon at the end of the row.

Calendar Grade Level Filtering

PlusPortals calendar events can now be made visible to selected grade levels, like School Announcements and School Resources. This allows for grade level specific events to only show for students and parents in those grades.


Upgraded Calendar Filters

Added upgraded filtering controls to the Calendar to allow selecting multiple categories and a filter for specific grade levels.

 

 

Added Contacts to Session Report

PlusPortals Admins can now see Session Reports on Parents (Miscellaneous > Reports > Sessions) so they can monitor their login activity. Parents will also now appear on the “All” Session Report.


Health Questionnaire for Non-Teaching Staff

The health questionnaire now includes non-teaching staff when enabled for teachers.  

Feature Fixes

Older Re-occurring events Not Showing in Public Feed

Fixed an issue that caused re-occurring events that began more than a year ago from being sent out to the public feed for other applications such as RediSite. 

Unlinked Assignments Appearing in the Wrong Marking Period

Fixed an issue where Assignments not linked to a marking period displayed in the Email Notification report regardless of the Marking periods selected. Now, if there is no marking period defined, the due date of the assignment is compared to the marking period dates to determine if it should be printed. 

Users can reply to accounts with incoming email disabled

Fixed an issue where users could reply to a message or e-mail from an account with incoming messages disabled. 

Events imported from ICS files not displaying on ParentPlus App

Fixed an issue where certain events imported from an ICS file were not displaying in the ParentPlus mobile app. 

Sections set to not visible appear on grid schedule

Fixed an issue where sections set as not visible were appearing on the grid schedule. 

Directory fields list loading as blank for students

Fixed an issue where the directory fields list was loading as blank for students when special characters were part of a field name.  

Unable to edit group

Fixed an issue where a group could not be edited when it was copied from a previous year and the group head was no longer with the school.

District PlusPortals Login Page Not Showing Login Page of Base School

When multiple schools are set up in a District, the Login Page for the District should show the login page that is set up for the base school.  This was not happening and is now fixed.
