Overview

What is the AI Assistant?

The AI Assistant is a tool available in a few places on the website, which will help you be more productive by generating text. The Assistant is powered by Open AI. Examples include using the AI Assistant in the Text Widget to help you generate content quickly and work more efficiently. The tool can also be used to help generate Alt-Text for Images as well as meta data for your Pages (SEO).

How do I get the AI Assistant tool on my RediSite and is there a cost?

Currently, this can be added to your site by request. Please e-mail support@rediker.com and we will get this activated on your site. The tool is a permission that is activated by Rediker for each client. New customers in/after 2025 will see the tool as a default. There is no cost for this added feature.

AI Profile

When first accessing the AI Content assistant, you will be prompted to set up the AI Business Profile. Once the profile is set, the AI Content assistant will utilize it regardless of where it is accessed from. To start using the AI Assistant fill in the answers to the questions when prompted. This profile helps train the AI Assistant to get to know your school and be able to write about you. It asks questions like your school's name, location, and "context." We recommend placing your mission statement or something similar into the "Give more context" box, that typically works well for the AI Profile to learn about you.

It can complete two types of actions:

Quick Edits: Helps you lengthen or shorten existing text as well as improve your writing.
Generate Content: Will write new content like titles for pages and paragraphs.

To Generate a Paragraph

Place a new Text widget or edit an existing one (it will overwrite existing text).
On the left side of the text editor, you should see the AI Assistant (note that if you do not see the AI Assistant option, please contact support@rediker.com access to this tool is based on permissions).
From the AI Assistant options choose Paragraph
If this is the first time using the AI Assistant, it will prompt you to answer some questions to establish an "AI Profile."
- These are questions that help the tool to learn about your school.
- Be sure to also choose your preferred "Tone of Voice" (conversational, professional, informative, etc). Conversational is the default tone of voice.
- You can choose to Update the AI Business Profile any time you are using the tool, in the bottom left click Update AI Business Profile.
The AI Assistant will then ask you to enter a few words, sentence, or paragraph, directing it what you want it to write a paragraph about. You must give it key words and or context.
You can set the Paragraph Length (short, medium, or long).
Click Generate, to generate your paragraph.
You can then either Use the text, Suggest Another, or go Back to make changes.

To Generate a Title for Text (Existing/Selected Text)

Access an existing Text Widget with text already in it
In the AI Assistant choose Title for This Text
Specify which Heading you want it to use (H1-H6)
You will then see a suggested title for your review
You will see options for Shortening (-><-) or Lengthening (<-->)
You can either Add Title to use the suggested text or, or choose Suggest Another (bottom right). Suggest another keeps the current suggestions and adds other suggestions such as Take #2, #3 etc. Thus, giving you choices.
When you Add Title, it will place the suggested title into the current Text Widget on top of the text

To Generate New Title for Page, Section, or Paragraph

Place a New Text Widget on the page where you want the Title to appear.
In the AI Assistant choose New Title
Using the "New Title" option as opposed to "Title for this text," it will overwrite any text already in the widget. For a title for existing text please use "Title for this text" option.
In the AI Assistant choose New Title
The assistant will then ask what you want a title for: Page, Section, or Paragraph
You then will type or paste in some text (up to 1000 characters) telling the assistant what it is generating a title about.
You cannot click Generate until you have filled in the About text. Key words will also work for the About text.
Generate and review the title, then choose either Suggest Another or Use this Text
As noted, the selected title will overwrite any existing text in the widget
Now set the Heading (H1-H6) level
Drag and drop the Text widget containing your Title where you want it (if you have not done so already).
Save, Review, and Republish the site.

Other Ways to Use the AI Assistant

Page SEO Meta Data: Individual Pages or All Pages

Individual Pages

Page meta data is what search engines see and use in search results. Having relevant page meta data is a must but can be tedious to generate. The AI Assistant can also help with your Page SEO by generating the meta title and meta description for your pages. Just access the Edit Page SEO from the page settings in the Pages Panel for any page. Then select and use the AI Assistant Icon for the Page meta title and or the Page meta description.

All Page's Meta Data

To generate meta tags for ALL of your pages, just access this option under the site SEO & Settings (left panel), choose SEO, and then Page-level SEO. You can elect to generate tags with AI. You can either do this individually by page, for all pages missing tags, or for all pages (over-writing existing tags). Note Rediker will also use this tool when we first build your site, however, as new pages are created and content changes over time, it is a good idea for you to review and update page meta data. This tool makes it very simple and quick!

Page Recommendations

Note that the Page Recommendations feature requires using the Page Builder tool, if you have not used the Page Builder tool before, it is recommended you review and practice using it at least once prior to using it to complete Page Recommendations.

This option combines the Page Builder with the AI Assistant, combining two tools in one. It looks at your AI Business Profile and compares it to existing pages. It will recommend adding pages based on what it sees. For example, if your website does not have an About Us page it may recommend building one, or if the tool thinks you would benefit from having a Testimonials page, it may suggest that as well. You would choose from the recommendations given and then select start building. This launches the Page Builder, which allows you to choose from Designed Sections to start your page layout.

Business Text

The AI Assistant is also available to help generate Business Text (under Content in the left panel). Just click the purple icon with white stars/sparkles on it. For example, under the About Us Business Text you could use it to write a paragraph or title.

Image Alt-Text

It is important to note that Alt Text is not only invaluable for SEO, but also for Accessibility as well. Any widget that displays an image will also have a spot for you to fill in Alt Text for the image(s). Use the AI Assistant to make it easier. The tool will analyze the image and come up with a short sentence describing the image.

Individual Images

Most widgets with an Image will have a spot for Alt Text. For example, the Image widget, and you will see the purple AI assistant icon (if it is available). The AI Tool is not available in all widgets, but you will see it in common widgets that use images like the Image Widget, Photo Gallery Widget, Image Slider

All Images/Missing Alt Text

The tool can also help by generating all images tags, and most importantly identify and help fill in images with missing alt text. Access the site settings for SEO & Settings (left panel), choose SEO, and then Page-level SEO and choose Generate Tags with AI (purple button). Then you will select Image Alt Text on the left. Here you can click the purple button on the right choose Generate Missing Alt Text Only or Generate Text for All Images (this will overwrite any existing alt text).
