If you are customer with both a RediSite school website and our PlusPortals, you can post announcements via your portal, and have them displayed in up to 4 locations. The locations could include:
- Inside your portal on the user's Home Page
- On your portal login page (IF your portal has opted to use the "Home Page" option under Miscellaneous)
- On your school's RediSite website (IF your RediSite design opted to include/display them)
- In an email
All school websites are personalized, whether your school design included or opted to display the announcements and where they are displayed will vary. If you do not see your announcements on your website, but want to, let us know at support@rediker.com.
How to create a "Public" Announcement (see this article for more details)
- In PlusPortals (logged in as an Admin), under Communication select School Announcements
- Create an announcement with the appropriate information (title, description, attachments or links, etc) and set a valid start and end date.
- Be sure to check the Visible To option of "Show on Login Page (Public)"
The announcement must have a currently valid start and end date/time in addition to the public visibility option selected, in order for the announcement to be displayed on your RediSite. The Portal to RediSite feed will automatically refresh every hour. The announcement will automatically stop being visible after the End Date/Time expires (both in and outside the Portal).
If you have recently created an active public announcement and do not wish to wait for the announcement to be displayed on your RediSite, you can manually refresh the data. However, it will automatically show up on the RediSite in about an hour. To refresh the Announcement data manually on your RediSite, go to Collections, click the 3 Dots to the right of the PlusPortals Announcements collection, and choose Refresh Data.
Displaying Announcements
When designing and setting up your RediSite, Rediker will automatically configure your PlusPortals Announcements to display on your website. We use a special widget called Announcements+, which can have some configurable options. We can place the announcements widget on any page that you wish to have the announcements displayed on, for example, your Home page or another page like a Parent Resource page.
At this time PlusPortals Announcements have neither a category tag nor an "thumbnail" image, as such the website will also not display or be able to use such items.

The Announcement+ widget will default to a paginated list that is responsive. The widget allows for configurable design options like the size and color of the text and more.
Links & Attachments
If your announcement includes Attachments or Links those will also be displayed on the website. The corresponding announcement will be displayed with a Plus Sign (+) and when clicked it expands to show the links or files attached to the announcement.
